Problem

In the past, preparing a site for above ground storage tank placement included pea gravel installation or building a concrete base. While pea gravel appeared to be more cost effective, over time the gravel was inevitably exposed to leaks and spills which resulted in the need for costly remediation. Setting tanks on a solid concrete base requires almost one month to prepare the ground, construct the forms, pour and cure the concrete.

Solution

Factory manufactured pads allow this process to be reduced to just days. They are installed on minimally prepared ground, which reduces site preparation and start-up costs. These interlocking tank pads are made from EPS coated with Rhino Extreme, which makes them portable, reusable and gives them a non-permeable surface that is easily cleaned.

These can easily be installed on levelled surfaces in minutes by a two-person crew, and a tank can be in place within hours.

Results

Tank farms can be easily installed and decommissioned using the interlocking pad system. Rhino Extreme protects the pads so they can be easily cleaned and reused again.
